This Wednesday at 9am on the Peace & Justice Report we’ll learn about Ruby, the new musical written by West Coast Black Theatre’s Nate Jacobs. Then we’ll talk to Rev. Paul Raushenbush from Interfaith Alliance about the rise of Christian nationalism.

This Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 9am we’ll talk to Mason Ayres from the Resurrection House about their services for homeless Sarasotans. Then we’ll interview Andrew Hudson about Jessica’s Organic Farm and the Mennonite culture.

This Wednesday at 9am we’ll interview E. Scott Osborne, writer, feminist and athlete. She’ll share her thoughts on gender issues. At 9:30 on Justice Matters, we’ll talk to attorney Neil Lyons, winner of a pro-bono service award for his help to indigent clients.

This Wednesday, January 10, we’ll interview Ahmed White, the author of Under the Iron Heel, The Wobblies and the Capitalist War on Radical Workers. Then we’ll talk to Professor Maria Vesperi of New College and Johannes Werner of WSLR about local news and their upcoming January 16 Fogartyville forum.

This Wednesday, January 3 at 9am, we’ll talk to Michael Zweig, author of Class, Race and Gender: Challenging the Injuries and Divisions of Capitalism. Then we’ll interview Asya Stewart, co-founder of the new Sarasota Children’s Museum.

This Wednesday, December 27 at 9am, we’ll talk about the conflict in Gaza. First we’ll talk to Ron Kenan who leads pro-Israel demonstrations the Sarasota farmers’ market each week. On December 20 at 9am we’ll talk to Cathy Bryant of Streets of Paradise about the work they do feeding and housing the homeless. Then at 9:30 Legal Aid of Manasota will speak to Janella Leibovitz, who oversees their Legal Lifeline for Youth initiative, and Jane Gill Watt, the founder of Impact100 SRQ.

This Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 9 am we’ll interview City Commissioner Jen Ahearn-Koch and several other officials about the repeal of the civil cannabis citation program in Sarasota. Then we’ll talk to Dr. Haywood Brown of USF about racial inequities in health and healthcare.

Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present – We’ll chat with author Ruth Ben-Ghiat. She’ll also be at the Preserve Democracy Expo at the UU church November 11 at 4pm.    

The WSLR Board of Directors invites the community to join the General Membership meeting Monday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at Fogartyville, 525 Kumquat Court.
