Beny Moré was one of the greatest singers to come out of Cuba, and his name evokes overwhelming nostalgia. In honor of Beny Moré’s birthday on August 24 The Interview this Friday is with John Radanovich, author of “Wildman of Rhythm, The Life & Music of Beny Moré” (2009). Moré became an icon of Cuban music but he died tragically at 44. John Radanovich has written for the New Orleans Times-Picayune, DownBeat, Jazziz, and Offbeat.
