“Yesterday’s Dead Today”, Monday, August 17th, 7-9pm Eastern

Written by on Sunday, August 16, 2020

“It is said that, if you lined up all those who have ever been to a Grateful Dead concert head-to-toe, the line would stretch around the moon, and about halfway back. And nobody would complain!”

WSLR is slowly coming back with a very sparse number of live studio programmers, albeit with very specific instructions as to how to protect both ourselves and our fellow WSLR volunteers.

Another Installment Of The Music Never Stopped Project!

Nine recordings, but scant few reviews. Reviews from this recording:
REVIEW: Too much pressure for the boys
The boys in first set were ok . . .on their collective way, second set got lazy and sloppy. Great set list; less than
memorable playin.

REVIEW: Typical West coast show
Nice sound! the Music plays the band! Except for the first 1/4 of Hell in a Bucket. Board issues. Great first set.
Vocals fairly strong! Keys stand out which is a plus for me. Second set is flowing but does lack some
intensity.Except for Bobby’s denial when Brent askes him to be his girl in Good Lovin’LOL “NO WAY” But
over all a beautiful show.Shakespeer must be High .

Reviews from other recordings:
REVIEW: mediocre
Nice sound but this show is average. Decent sets but nothing special. back end of 2nd set prob best part.

REVIEW: mediocre?
Maybe. Or does this lean a bit more toward- the boys just killing it at the best venue ever? You decide… and
yea.. picture yourself high, standing in front of Phil for the Sugaree, then saying-“mediocre”. I’m thinking that
some reviewers were NOT at this show. I’m also thinking that some are missing the quality of the recording.

REVIEW: Jerry Chain Smoking
I remember Jerry chain smoking through Space when I was looking at him through binoculars. He must of
hot-boxed 3 smokes. The Candyman Jam is classic and Brent boasts some great BGD vocals. This show
reminds you why Jerry missed Brent the most after his smack OD. –

REVIEW: Like it was yesterday
What a great show. Was in the orchestra pit with Tom Stack of Grateful Dead Productions. Remember the Don’t
Ease Me In…we could not stop singing that tune at end of set. After show got lost on campus and ended up
driving our car in pedestrian only places. Was with dear departed friend Ali. Will never forget the good times.
