Nursing Homes, then Earth Day! Wednesday, April 22 at 9am. on Peace & Justice

Written by on Monday, April 20, 2020

Bob Connors and I were live again on April 22, calling in from home. Our first guest was Melanie Payne, a reporter with Ft. Myers News-Press, part of the USA Today Network. She talked about the Covid-19 deaths in elder-care facilities in Florida.

Forty-two percent of the covid deaths in Manatee County and thirty-six percent of the deaths in Sarasota County occur in these facilities!

Please go to archive.wslr.org if you missed this show or any of our recent shows.

On the second half of the show, since today is EARTH DAY, our guests were John and Susan Darovec. John and Susan have worked for many years on global warming. In particular, they are long-term supporters and advocates for the Citizens Climate Lobby. John is also a member of Florida Veterans for Common Sense and on of the authors of their CLIMATE CHANGE REPORT.
