This Wednesday at 9am we’ll interview the Chair of Patriotic Millionaires, Morris Pearl. Mr. Pearl was the Managing Director at BlackRock, one of the largest investment firms in the world, Patriotic Millionaires “share a profound concern about the destabilizing level of economic and political inequality in America, the root cause of our current social unrest. We seek to reform our country’s political economy so that it naturally generates greater economic and political equality, the preconditions for a stable, prosperous nation. We center our work on three “First Principles”: Equal Political Representation, a Livable Minimum Wage and a Fair Tax system.”
At 9:30, since it’s the third Wednesday of the month, Legal Aid of Manasota will present Justice Matters. They’ll talk about our lack of safe, affordable housing in our area. Their guest will be Jon Thaxton, senior vice-president of community leadership at Gulf Coast Community Foundation and a former Sarasota County Commissioner. He is a longtime advocate for affordable housing.
