This Wednesday May 13 at 9am our guest, on the phone live, will be Neil Volz. Neil is the Deputy Director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition. FRRC is a “grassroots, membership organization run by Returning Citizens (Formerly Convicted Persons) who are dedicated to ending the disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions, and creating a more comprehensive and humane reentry system that will enhance successful reentry, reduce recidivism, and increase public safety.”
We’ll talk about what FRRC is doing to help returning citizens and about the upcoming ruling from U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle on the 2019 Florida law that added a requirement to pay all fines, fees and restitutions as a condition for former felons to vote under Amendment 4 passed in 2018.
