Joining Lew and his co-host this week Francis Scheuer will be John Bondur who is the vice-chair of the Manatee County Democratic Party. John will tell us about the party plans to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters Monday with entertainment by the Steve Norris Band and speeches by Dave Shapiro, an attorney who is challenging Vern Buchanan for his house seat, and other candidates for the 2018 election.
Later in the show, Kirk Bailey, political director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida, will discuss that group’s position on the recent onslaught of alt-right and white supremacist activity and the backlash it is causing. The question to be answered: Is protecting their right to speak more important than shutting down it’s vile message?
