“Yesterday’s Dead Today”, Monday, Nov. 28th, 7-9pm

Written by on Sunday, November 27, 2016

“There Is NOTHING like a Grateful Dead concert!”

While I could be wrong, I don’t find these anywhere on the
internet:

Jerry Garcia & John Kahn, Bushnell Hall, Hartford, CT
November 26, 1984
Matrix recording:
SBD: Source: MSC > C
FOB: Nak300cartoids > SonyD5 > MAC

This is a warmer, richer sound than the board could provide alone.
Third of only 4 non-GD Garcia Peggy-Os. 18 minute plus acoustic
“Bird Song”.

Audience and tuning breaks between tunes seems to have been edited
out and tracks cross-faded. Thus, both sets seem to be continuous, and
therefore I will broadcast each set undisturbed by your humble
programmer:

Disc 1 – Set 1:
1. Deep Elem Blues
2. Little Sadie
3. Peggy-O
4. Valerie
5. Run For The Roses
6. Simple Twist Of Fate

Disc 2 – Set 2:
1. Reuben And Cherise
2. Friend Of The Devil
3. Jack-A-Roe
4. Gomorrah
5. Bird Song

And, as time allows:
Jerry Garcia and John Kahn, Auditorium Theater, Rochester, N.Y.
November 27, 1984
Audience recording:
MAC (mics and taper unknown) > DAT

Disc 1 – Set 1:
1. Deep Elem Blues
2. Little Sadie
3. Friend Of The Devil
4. Oh Babe, It Ain’t No Lie
5. When I Paint My Masterpiece
6. Run For The Roses

Disc 2 – Set 2: 42:04
1. Reuben And Cherise
2. I’ve Been All Around This World
3. Peggy-O
4. Simple Twist Of Fate
5. Ripple

Final of only four non-GD Garcia performances of “Peggy-O”.

Very good audience recording with minor level fluctuations largely
related to the taper turning down the gain because of audience noise –
most notable at the beginning of sets and at the first notes of Ripple.
There were some pauses between tracks with a couple instances of the
clipping of the first note. Silent gaps between pauses were removed.
