This Wednesday at 9am we’ll interview Ginger McCallum, Volunteer Local Lead and Legislative Lead of Manasota Moms Demand Action. We’ll talk about Manatee Commissioner Satcher’s proposal to allow guns at work in Manatee County and the protest set for next Tuesday. She writes “I am sharing additional information about Commissioner Satcher’s proposal to allow guns at work in Manatee County. The July 26 peaceful protest and regular commission meeting (8:30-5) will be held at the County Administration building, 1112 Manatee Ave West, Bradenton 34205. We invite anyone to join the peaceful protest before the commission meeting and/or to observe the meeting to show support. I have a supply of Moms Demand t-shirts to share, or wear a red shirt of your own!”
Then, as usual on the third Wednesday of the month, we’ll host JUSTICE MATTERS presented by Legal Aid of Manasota. Their guest will be attorney Alison Archbold. She’ll discuss the importance of planning for future needs and why wills, advanced directives, and pre- need guardianships are important regardless of income. There is peace of mind knowing your family, friends and caregivers will know what you want and what you don’t.
