Peace & Justice Weds, Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. – Florida Rights Restoration and Charlottesville

Written by on Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Wednesday, August 23 from 9 until 10 a.m., Bob will have several guests. Among them will be Neil Volz of the Florida Rights Restoration Commission which is committed to removing Florida’s civil rights ban imposed on citizens with past felony convictions. Florida is one of only three states that strip all such citizens of their civil rights, including the right to vote, even after they have completed their sentences. Neil will be at Fogartyville next Tuesday evening, August 29, at 6:30.

Also on the program Bob will chat with Democratic National Committee Vice Chair Michael Blake about #RiseandOrganize, a call to action to make it “loud and clear that Trump’s hateful rhetoric doesn’t represent the diverse people and communities across this country.”

Tom will be one of the speakers at the all-day hearing before the Sarasota County Board of Commissioners concerning  the Celery Fields and the construction debris recycling dump being proposed on land next to it. If you have time on Wednesday, head on down to 1660 Ringling Blvd. in Sarasota and join the demonstrations which start at 8:00 a.m.
