A week ago Richard Cordray, the Obama-appointed director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Elizabeth Warren’s brainchild effort to avoid another economic crash like what happened  in 2008, resigned and appointed his deputy Leandra English. President Trump had other ideas for the direction of the agency and appointed Budget Director Mick Mulvaney as interim director. The conflict was decided by a Federal judge who ruled in favor of the administration. Joining Steve and Lew this week is Remington Gregg, the Counsel for Civil Justice and Consumer Rights for Public Citizen to explain what happened in court and what may happen in the future to the CFPB.

Later, Matt Gertz (above) a senior fellow at Media Matters for America will discuss the latest attempt by alt-right media guerrilla James O’Keefe to delegitimize the mainstream media as “fake news.” It seems, however, whenever O’Keefe tries to expose the legitimate press, the only “fake news” that is revealed are his own reports.
