Written by on Sunday, September 18, 2022

I’ve seen thousands of reviews over the years, but this actually explains “A Deadhead”…
“REVIEW: stella
As a new fan of the Dead it was years before I realized the importance of the tears streaming down
the face of the girl beside me. She seemed to be having a religious experience. Now I know why”

REVIEW: A fuckin plus!!!!!!!!!!
THE BEST CHINA DOLL BAR NONE!!!! THE SHOW IS WORTH IT FOR THE CD
ALONE!! LOL

REVIEW: 9/19/88
Indeed, this show was hot…I was lucky enough to be there…as were so many from MSG. I
sometimes forget how good Brent was, and then you get the Far From Me here…and it just goes
up side your head! So good…and his piano work in Foolish Heart. Jerry’s voice is a little rough,
but he gets an “A” for effort in my mind. Peter, Foolish, Touch…and yes, China Doll are all
excellent. However, best CD ever? Hardly, IMHO. The first ever comes to mind (2/9/73) as a
far superior rendition. But for the later years this was hot. Sound quality is excellent.

REVIEW: Crystal clear….
perfect sound quality, nice balance, although jerry could be turned up a just a hair…I love all of
these 87 and 88 MSG shows, they are all good and many of them sound perfect. no different
here. garcia’s lead playing is energetic and smooth. the far from me is nice, I enjoy that tune,
jerry rips it.

REVIEW: China Doll
Maybe the phrase “favorite should be used” instead of best. From a musicians standpoint, this
Doll is my fav of all. The lead Jerry pulls off shows he still had some spark! Rest of the show is
OK. 4 stars for the CD

REVIEW: Mydland’s Rooster Solo
Transcending. That mofo could draw you a mental picture of emotion better than anyone that I have ever heard.
Period, and the way him and Billy interact at the transitions of his solo. Badass.
