Our Revolution and The Democracy Rebellion, on Peace & Justice Weds, May 6, 9am.

Written by on Sunday, May 3, 2020

This week our first segment will be an interview I did this Saturday with the Board Chair of Our Revolution, Larry Cohen. Larry is the former president of the Communications Workers of America.

Larry will talk about Bernie Sanders campaign and explain why Our Revolution still continues to seek delegates to the Democratic convention for Bernie even though Bernie has suspended his campaign and endorsed Joe Biden. He’ll talk about the cancelled New York primary, about medicare for all, and about the plans Our Revolution has going forward.

On the second half of our show today, I’ll play an interview I did recently with Hedrick Smith

Hedrick is a Pulitzer Prize-winning former New York Times reporter and editor and Emmy award-winning producer/correspondent. His newest work is The Democracy Rebellion – People Power in Action, a one-hour PBS documentary available on YouTube showing how grassroots citizen movements are winning victories for political reform, state by state.

For the past four years, Hedrick traveled around America, reporting on grassroots movements in more than 20 states and doing on-location filming that captures People Power clashing with power brokers and the political establishment in half a dozen states, and scoring surprising victories. His website, Reclaimtheamericandream.org, has a wealth of information and tools for people interested in political and social reform.
