Jono Miller (above) longtime local environmental activist and advocate will join Steve and Lew to talk about environmental issues ranging from the national disgrace of Trump’s withdrawal of the US from the Paris Accord on climate change and cuts to the EPA budget to the state legislature’s failure to honor voters wish to buy more conservation land. Jono will also address some very local issues such as the proposed 10-year unit management plan for Myakka River State Park. Is it a good idea to harvest and sell palm fronds? Listen to hear what Jono thinks.
Later, Dee Hunter, who as scheduled to be on the show last week but was unexpectedly unable to receive the call, will be on this week to tell us about his organization, the Civil Rights Law Center, and his work in Georgia with the Voting Rights Project, who are trying to keep the election of the replacement for HHS secretary Tom Price’s House seat in the 6th District on the up and up.
